Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has charged Muslim faithful in the state to embrace the essence of the birth of the Holy Prophet of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), which is the good of all mankind.

Governor Adeleke, who congratulated Muslims in the state and beyond for the symbolic moment that the birth of Prophet Muhammad signifies, reminded them to take cognisance of the noble example of peace and hope that the Holy Prophet reflects.

While stressing strict adherence to the message of compassion and kindness that the life and teaching of Prophet Muhammad embodied, Governor Adeleke noted that his government remains committed to initiatives and interventions that would lessen the pains of the moment and ensure a better tomorrow.

The governor, in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Monday, said, “On this blessed day, I extend my joyous wishes to Muslim faithful, particularly in Osun State, as we commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

“Prophet Muhammad was a blessing of our Allah to mankind as he not only lightened our journey on Earth but also served as an assurance of a better place in the afterlife. As we celebrate the blessing that his birth serves on humanity, I urge us all to draw from his timeless wisdom in building a just and harmonious society.

“As much as we celebrate the significance of this day, we must not let the message of peace and unity, which is the hallmark of Prophet Muhammad’s life, be lost on us, and we must strive to embrace the principles of love and kindness that the Holy Prophet embodied.”

Adeleke prayed that the occasion would bring peace, blessings, and a renewed commitment to strengthen bonds in homes, Osun State, and Nigeria as a whole, while reiterating the commitment of his government to religious harmony, which will foster enduring peace and stability, a panacea to the prosperous society he envisaged.
