The Command also announced new crime prevention, detection and control strategies for the Lekki-Ajah axis, including the redeployment of Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and the deployment of the Eko Strike Force, a specialised intervention unit.
Commissioner of Police Jimoh Olohundare said the changes were introduced to bring a “new impetus” to crime control, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the Command’s proactive response to distress situations.
Meanwhile, the police confirmed they have launched a discreet investigation into an inter-cult clash that left three cultists dead around Wole Olateju Street, Lekki Phase 1. Olohundare said joint police teams, including the Anti-Cultism and other tactical units under the Elemoro Area Command, were mobilised to restore order and arrest suspects linked to the violence.
The Command, however, assured residents that crime in Lekki is not alarming and urged them to go about their daily activities without fear.
