Army donates vehicle to Man-O-War Lagos Command for intelligence support

The Commander of 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Olawale Matthew Oyekola, has donated an operational vehicle to the Lagos State Command of Man-O-War Nigeria to enhance its intelligence gathering capabilities.

The vehicle, formerly one of the long-abandoned OP MESA vehicles, was refurbished and handed over to the paramilitary group on April 22, 2025, during a formal presentation held in Lagos.

Brigadier General Oyekola, while presenting the vehicle, stated that the donation was aimed at boosting Man-O-War’s ability to gather and share critical information in support of the brigade’s operations across Lagos State. He expressed hope that the vehicle would enable the organisation to respond more effectively to operational demands and contribute to the brigade’s mission readiness.

In his response, the Commander of Man-O-War, Lagos State Command, Lucky Onimowo, thanked Brigadier General Oyekola for the gesture and pledged that the vehicle would be used efficiently to provide timely and actionable intelligence to support the Nigerian Army’s activities in the state. The event was marked by the symbolic handover of the vehicle’s keys to Onimowo.
