Nigeria educationIN a sign of confidence in the Nigerian economy, Australia’s Trade and Investment agency, Austrade, will hold its first ever Australi- focussed education exhibition later this year in Lagos.

Speaking with The Guardian during a recent visit to Nigeria on the reason for the exhibition, Australia’s Senior Trade Commissioner, John Madew, said: “Australia has a strong track record of innovation and success. It is the home to some of the world’s leading educational institutions, researchers and academics, including 15 Nobel Prize winners.

“Australia also has four of the ten most liveable cities in the world. Why won’t you want to study with some of the best minds in some of the safest and most liveable cities in the world?”

The inaugural Future Unlimited West Africa Education Exhibition 2015 will provide prospective Nigerian undergraduate and postgraduate students an excellent opportunity to discuss study plans directly with qualified representatives from up to 15 Australian education institutions.

He said that a number of Nigerian alumni of Australian universities would also be on hand to speak to interested students and parents about their personal experiences of studying in Australia.

According to him, the exhibition will hold on September 25 and 26 at the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island and Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, in Lagos.

Australian Trade Commissioner for West Africa, Gordon Chakaodza added, “The exhibition will be an excellent opportunity to learn about the benefits of studying in Australia, including obtaining first-hand information about current student visa regulations.”
