Ex-DG of MKO Abiola’s campaign Zwingina dies at 70
Former Senate Majority Leader, Jonathan Zwingina, reportedly passed away at the age of 70 after a long protracted illness on Wednesday.
Zwingina, who also served as the Director-General of the MKO Abiola Campaign Organisation during the historic June 12, 1993 presidential election, was a prominent figure in Nigerian politics.
The Adamawa State-born politician died in Abuja.
Meanwhile, a renowned Polo game player, Mallam Abdulrahman Bashir, has described the death of Zwingina as a great loss to the nation.
Bashir said Jonathan’s passion for Adamawa State is known through his contributions to developing the state while serving as a senator representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District.
Meanwhile, Bashir has called on Adamawa Youth to develop the state in the order of Jonathan.
According to him, “the soul of Jonathan will rest well when the Youth of Adamawa and Nigeria are living with a conscience to develop the state for the sake of a better Nigeria.
“May our Father Soul rest well, rest in peace from eternity to eternity.”
