Ex-Nasarawa lawmaker kidnapped, police orderly killed

Hon. Dr. Haruna Kigbu, former member of the House of Representatives, who represented Nasarawa Eggon, Wamba Akwanga Constituency, was kidnapped yesterday on his way to Jos.

According to some villagers who spoke with our reporter, they heard sporadic gunshots, and later, when they reached the spot, the body of his police orderly was found lying dead.

The kidnapping took place around 6:00 pm between Nunku, Akwanga Local Government Area (LGA), Nasarawa State, and Gwantu, Sanga LGA, Kaduna State.

The spot is notorious for criminal activities, with several kidnappings taking place, many resulting in killings or abductions.

All attempts to reach the police spokesman for confirmation in the state failed.
