A fire incident Monday morning gutted some parts of the Government House, Katsina State.
The fire reportedly damaged the chamber as well as the storage area for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), among other related products.
While no lives were lost, the fire razed down several pieces of equipment at the chamber and consumed unspecified gallons of fuel.
It was learnt that the fire service, which is usually stationed within the government house premises, was not available to quench the fire.
According to a source, the firefighting vehicles had initially been away on another assignment but were later called back to douse the inferno.
An eyewitness said the fire razed the affected structures for several hours before it was quenched around 6:00 a.m.
The incident occurred when the state governor, Dr Dikko Radda, toured the three senatorial zones to meet with stakeholders on the 2025 budget and community development-related issues.
The cause of the fire incident is unknown at the time of filing this report.
