FRSC seeks Ojodu LCDA’s support for ‘ember months’ road safety
The new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Lagos, Kehinde Hamzat, has called for the support of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to drive stakeholder engagement on road safety during the high-traffic “ember months.”
Hamzat stressed the importance of promoting safe driving practices during this period, traditionally marked by increased road activity and heightened accident risks, to protect lives and enhance quality of life.
During a visit to the Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, SegunOdunmbaku, at the council headquarters, Hamzat expressed appreciation for Odunmbaku’s openness to collaboration.
He noted that the busy Ojodu-Berger axis, a major entry point to Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub, necessitates focused efforts on road safety and accident prevention.
In response, Odunmbaku highlighted the critical role that inter-agency collaboration plays in fostering development across Ojodu LCDA.
He attributed the council’s achievements to successful partnerships with agencies like the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC), which has helped improve road infrastructure, and various security agencies.
The council, he noted, has supported these efforts by providing patrol vehicles and resources to enhance public safety.
Odunmbaku reiterated his administration’s commitment to forming alliances directly impacting residents’ lives.
“Our collaborative approach has bolstered security, improved road conditions, and strengthened public service delivery,” he said, adding that only through a unified approach can the community’s needs be effectively addressed and sustainable development promoted.
