The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Babalola, has reiterated the need for institutional collaboration and operational synergy in tackling insecurity.
Babalola made the remark during familiarisation visits to key formations at Bonny Cantonment in Lagos as part of ongoing strategic engagements within the Division’s Area of Responsibility.
During the visits, the GOC held high-level interactions at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Army Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (NAEME), the Naval Doctrine Command (NAVDOC), and the Directorate of Automated Data Processing (DADP).
At the NAEME Headquarters, he was received by the Commander, Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Major General Adeyinka Adereti, who congratulated him on his appointment as the 26th GOC of 81 Division and expressed confidence in his leadership.
Adereti assured the GOC of the Corps’ support and institutional cooperation toward ensuring a successful tenure.
In his remarks, Babalola described the visit as both symbolic and strategic, noting that effective command thrives on unity of purpose, professional cooperation and shared dedication to mission success.
He commended the Corps’ leadership and acknowledged its role in sustaining the operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Army.
The GOC also expressed appreciation for the reception and assured the Commander of the Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers of his commitment to strengthening collaboration in achieving the Division’s constitutional mandates.
Similarly, Babalola paid a courtesy visit to the Flag Officer Commanding, Naval Doctrine Command, Rear Admiral B K Effiong, where both senior officers emphasised the importance of sustained inter-service collaboration in enhancing operational effectiveness.
At the Directorate of Automated Data Processing, the Director, Brigadier General V E Cletus, conducted the GOC round key facilities and highlighted the Directorate’s role in strengthening command, control, communications and information systems within the Nigerian Army.
The visits ended with group photographs symbolising unity, shared responsibility and a collective resolve to enhance operational efficiency within the Division’s Area of Responsibility.
