The Nigerian Governors Forum has paid condolences to Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, saying the attacks and killings in the state are unfortunate and unwarranted.
The forum led by Kwara State governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman consoled their counterpart, saying they share in the pain.
Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, while delivering the governors’ condolence message, said they are all saddened by the development.
Responding, Governor Mutfwang appreciated them for their show of concern, saying the state is mourning due to the devastation of the incidents.
However, Mutfwang said the attacks will not stop his administration from ensuring the restoration of lasting peace: “this recent happening took us by surprise, but we will not relent.”
Mutfwang called on the Federal Government to secure the 36 states of Nigeria, stressing that what happened in Plateau State could occur in any part of Nigeria.
Abdulrahman, of Kwara state, who is the chairman of the forum; Borno State’s Babagana Zulum; and Seyi Makinde of Oyo state were present.
