Kuteb Yatso of Nigeria (KYN) has issued an urgent alert to the Taraba State Government and national security agencies, citing credible intelligence on impending large-scale coordinated attacks on communities in Southern Taraba.

In a world press conference held on Saturday in Jalingo, Taraba State, the group led by its National President, Emmanuel Ukwen, alleged that terrorists have been fully mobilised with sophisticated weapons and logistics and are preparing to launch assaults on several villages and towns across Ussa, Takum, Kurmi local government councils and the Yangtu Special Development Area in the coming days and weeks.

“This region has witnessed repeated, targeted violence against Kuteb communities. Most recently, on August 21, 2025, an attack near the Tati axis claimed the lives of three people,” Ukwen stated.

The group released a comprehensive list of areas at risk, including Ambiya, Tukwog, Muji 1 and 2, Basang, Acha Sarka, Tati, Sabon Gida Kuteb, Kwesati, Kumbu, Kpambo Puri, and dozens more across the affected local governments.

The group also alleged that the attackers are not residents of Yangtu but infiltrate through border areas such as Basang in Takum, often destroying crops and displacing rural farming communities in Tamiya, Bika Lupwe, Jenuwa Nyifiye, Ribasi, and surrounding villages.

In light of these threats, the group called for immediate deployment of security forces to vulnerable areas, enhanced surveillance and intelligence sharing, support for local vigilante groups and community defence initiatives, and government intervention to prevent further bloodshed and destruction.

The group also urged communities to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and report suspicious activities as tensions escalate.

Security agencies and the Taraba State government have yet to issue a formal response to the alert at the time of filing this report.
