Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a 34-year-old man, Okudili Okoro, and abducted a businesswoman, Mrs. Orogun, in Ayede Ogbese, Akure North Local Council Area of Ondo State.
The attack occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday when 10 armed men stormed the community in two unregistered vehicles—a silver EOD car and a grey Toyota Camry—shooting sporadically to scare residents.
Witnesses said the assailants shot Okoro before abducting the businesswoman. The vehicles then sped off in different directions, with one heading towards Akure and the other towards Owo.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, saying the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, had ordered tactical commanders to ensure the woman’s rescue and the arrest of the suspects.
The command urged residents to provide timely information to aid the investigation.
