The Inspire Lagos Food Market, in collaboration with Ojodu Local Council Development Area, has successfully provided relief to over 2,000 residents in the Ojodu area, offering essential food staples at a 50% discount.
The initiative, spearheaded by Founder Abiola Adebajo, aims to alleviate food insecurity and support families struggling in the wake of rising living costs.
Adebajo expressed his delight as community members purchased food items at a 50% discounted price compared to the market price.
“We are thrilled to have been able to bring this relief to the people of Ojodu, allowing them to purchase 15 staple food items at such a reduced price. It’s heartwarming to see the joy and gratitude on their faces,” he said.
According to him, the success of the initiative in Ojodu has been a part of a broader mission to reach various local governments across Lagos State, saying: “We have already visited other local governments, and our goal is to extend this initiative throughout Lagos State to make food more accessible to those in need.
Moreover, Adebajo expressed gratitude to the supporters and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the food market a success.
As Inspire Lagos Food Market continues to expand its reach, Adebajo expressed confidence in future events, calling for stronger collaborations that will help ease the burden of food scarcity in the region.
“As far as the Ojodu edition is concerned, LCDA Chairman, Honourable David Olusegun Odumbakun, provided all the necessary support and facilitated the event on short notice. “We are grateful for his quick response and unwavering support. His commitment to the community’s welfare has been instrumental in our ability to execute this program,” Adebajo remarked.
Chairman, Hon. David Olusegun Odumbakun, emphasized the importance of the initiative, calling on Lagosians to rally behind the dream.
“In these challenging times, we must come together to support one another. This 50% slash on food prices is not just a discount; it’s a lifeline for many families in Ojodu. We are dedicated to ensuring that all residents have access to affordable food, and we will continue to explore innovative solutions to support our community,” he stated.
