A group of kidnappers has abducted four members of a family in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The incident occurred around 1:30 am on Friday in the Tundun Fulani extension area of Bwari Area Council.

A resident, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the kidnappers forced their way into the family’s home to abduct the victims.

The resident also disclosed that one person, who managed to escape the abduction, was shot by the kidnappers.

“There was a kidnapping incident in Tundun Fulani extension in Bwari around 1:30 am,” The PUNCH quoted the source as saying.

“The kidnappers were many and fully armed. They broke into a house and kidnapped four members of the same family. They also shot one person who escaped.”

The FCT Police Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident and assured that the police were handling the situation.

The Guardian reports that on May 19, suspected bandits invaded Dakwa, DeiDei area, a suburb along the Zuba/Suleja road in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and kidnapped four persons and left many others injured.

On the same day, Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Brig-Gen Abubakar Haruna, revealed that troops have rescued about 386 persons, mostly women and children abducted about 10 years ago, from the Sambisa forest.

Brig-Gen Haruna said this when he paid a morale-boosting visit to the troops fighting Boko Haram in Sambisa Forest, hailing them for killing 21 Boko Haram terrorists, destroying their camps and rescuing the victims.
