LASUSTECH, UNILAG Mass Communication departments pledge institutional partnership

The vision of the Department of Mass Communication, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) to foster Institutional linkages and collaboration, received a major boost as the immediate past Head of Department (HOD), Mass Communication, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof. Adepeju Tejumaye, paid a solidarity visit to the department.

The vision of the Department of Mass Communication, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) to foster Institutional linkages and collaboration, received a major boost as the immediate past Head of Department (HOD), Mass Communication, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof. Adepeju Tejumaye, paid a solidarity visit to the department.

The visit, which saw Prof. Tejumaye warmly welcomed by acting HOD, Department of Mass Communication, LASUSTECH, Dr Steven Anu’ Adesemoye, and other senior members of the department, was aimed at fostering collaboration and exploring areas of mutual benefit between the two institutions.

Adesemoye expressed gratitude for the visit, saying: “We are honoured at host Prof. Tejumaye. This visit is a testament to the growing reputation of our department.”

Tejumaye was led on a tour of the LASUSTECH FM radio station and other facilities. Impressed by what he saw, he commended LASUSTECH for its commitment to practical training and student development.

“I am truly impressed by what I have seen here today,” Tẹjumaye said.

“The facilities are top-notch, and it is evident that LASUSTECH is dedicated to equipping its students with the skills they need to succeed in the media industry.”

He also emphasised the importance of student involvement in radio broadcasting. I encourage LASUSTECH to continue to provide opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience through the radio station,” he said. “This is crucial for their growth as media professionals.”

Dr. Anu’ Adesemoye expressed his department’s commitment to student training and development. “We are committed to providing our students with the best possible education and practical experience,”_ he said. _”Collaborations with esteemed institutions like Unilag are invaluable in achieving this goal.”

The visit ended with a pledge by both institutions to explore opportunities for collaboration in areas such as student exchange programs, joint research, and staff development. ‎
