Musa donates ₦50m, food trucks to Mokwa flood victims

Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, CON, representing Niger East Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Niger State following the devastating floods that recently struck Mokwa and its surrounding communities.

In a message of solidarity, Senator Musa commiserated with Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, His Royal Highness the Etsu Nupe, and all those affected by the disaster, describing the incident as a “tragedy that has brought deep pain, loss of lives, displacement of families, and disruption of livelihoods.”

“As a son of the soil and representative of the people, I stand with the resilient people of Mokwa during this difficult time,” Senator Musa said. “On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Niger East, I extend our deepest condolences and unwavering support.”

To support immediate relief efforts, Senator Musa has donated ₦50 million and several truckloads of essential food items—including rice, millet, and maize—to assist displaced families and vulnerable individuals across the affected areas.

He praised the leadership of Governor Bago, the traditional institution led by the Etsu Nupe, emergency responders, and volunteers for their swift response and dedication to alleviating the suffering of victims.

Senator Musa also called on well-meaning Nigerians, corporate organizations, and humanitarian agencies to join hands in bringing relief and rebuilding hope for the affected communities. “In moments like this, our shared humanity must lead us to action. Unity and compassion are the foundation of true recovery.

“May Almighty Allah (SWT) grant mercy to the souls of those we lost, comfort the grieving families, strengthen the people of Mokwa, and restore peace and prosperity to the region. Ameen.”
