No bomb explosion in Orlu, police assure Imo residents

CP Aboki Danjuma, Imo State Commissioner of Police

The Imo State Police Command has dismissed rumours of a bomb scare or explosion in Orlu or any other part of the state.

In a statement yesterday on the Police Media Forum WhatsApp platform, the command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), urged residents to go about their lawful activities without fear.

He said: “The Imo State Police Command has not received any report of a bomb explosion in Orlu today. We urge citizens to disregard any bomb scare and go about their lawful activities while remaining alert to security matters.”

This clarification comes two weeks after two suspected hoodlums transporting an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on a motorcycle in Orsu, Imo State, were killed when the device exploded.

The incident resulted in their deaths and left their bodies and the motorcycle severely burnt.
