A man in Ondo, whose identity has been withheld by the Ondo State Police Command, set his wife ablaze and killed himself after a disagreement between them.

The police in the state narrated this gory incident on its official page on X on Thursday.

“Mr A was married to Mrs A, but along the line, they had issues that made them stay apart. Mr. A called Mrs. A to come over and carry a wardrobe.

“When she got to the house, he started with threats of killing himself but later locked the door so that both of them would die together,” the Ondo Police wrote on the microblogging platform.

The man set himself and his wife ablaze with the aid of fuel and a lighter.

He died on the spot, but his wife sustained major burns.

The Ondo Police added that the woman had been transferred to three different hospitals in less than eight hours.

The police also advised people to stay away from toxic partners. “Stay away from toxic partners.”
