Ondo partners U.S. to boost investment opportunities

The Ondo State Government is set to partner with the United States in a bid to boost investment opportunities.

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, following his visit to the U.S. Embassy in Abuja.

“Yesterday, I visited the United States Embassy in Abuja to deepen discussions on investment opportunities in Ondo State,” Aiyedatiwa said.

“We highlighted strategic projects such as the Deep Sea Port, Petrochemical Hub, Refinery, and Agribusiness ventures within our Free Trade Zone, all designed to boost Nigeria’s economy by easing port congestion in Lagos and positioning Ondo as a major hub for international trade.”

Aiyedatiwa said the U.S. officials assured him that Ondo State is now on the list of recommended destinations for American investors.

He said they expressed keen interest in the state’s mineral resources, cocoa production, and the improved business environment Ondo is building, while also commending its security efforts through the Amotekun Corps.

Aiyedatiwa expressed excitement over the meeting, saying this engagement was both timely and fruitful, laying a strong foundation for stronger U.S.–Ondo relations in trade, industry, and agriculture.

The governor also said that Ondo State is always open for business.
