The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has reiterated its commitment to partnering with governments at all levels to build a society of peace, equity, and godliness.
The National President of PFN, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, disclosed this yesterday while briefing journalists on the body’s 40th anniversary celebrations and other national issues.
He noted that PFN has positively impacted Nigeria and beyond in areas such as evangelism, revival, education, employment, arts and culture, politics and governance, as well as global and humanitarian services that have uplifted countless lives.
According to him, PFN has been a voice of hope, a pillar of unity, and a beacon of light in the country. He stressed that the fellowship will continue to pray for all in authority so that Nigeria may prosper and its people live in peace.
Oke expressed confidence that God would keep the fire of gospel revival kindled by the founding fathers burning from generation to generation, not only in Nigeria but also across the world.
He paid glowing tributes to the founding fathers, including Rev. Umar Ukpai, Dr J.A. Boyejo, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, Rev. Obiorah Ezekiel, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Rev. E.O. Abina, Rev. D.O. Ogunkanmi, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, and Rev. Sam Ukaegbu, among others. He acknowledged that their vision, prayers, sacrifices, and tireless evangelism birthed a movement that has transformed Christianity in Nigeria.
The milestone 40th anniversary, with the theme “PFN: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” will begin on October 19, 2025, with state-level celebrations featuring thanksgiving services and awards across the states. The national thanksgiving service will hold on October 23, 2025, at Redemption City, Lagos, where PFN began. Over 50,000 members are expected to attend under the ministration of Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai.
This will be followed by a national dinner and awards night in Abuja on October 27, alongside the groundbreaking of the PFN Legacy Place in Abuja to establish a lasting heritage for future generations.
Meanwhile, PFN has called on Nigerians not to lose faith in the country despite its numerous challenges.
Oke stressed that God did not make a mistake in making Nigerians one people. He reminded citizens that the country will soon celebrate its 65th independence anniversary and urged gratitude for Nigeria’s continued unity despite adversity.
He also called on the federal government to listen to the cries of the poor, who, he said, are in agony and struggling to survive more than ever before.
Furthermore, he urged the government to fix the economy and plug financial leakages to ensure that the nation’s tremendous wealth trickles down to the masses rather than being concentrated in the hands of the five per cent at the top.
