Honourable Clement Jimbo, popularly known as ‘Youth Slot’ and a member of the House of Representatives representing the Abak/Etim-Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom State, has empowered thirteen constituents with business grants of 500,000 naira each. In addition, he gifted a tear rubber Toyota Camry car and 200,000 naira in cash for fuel to another beneficiary.
Jimbo, who serves as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, disclosed that he spent more than 25 million naira on these grants and gifts for the Batch A beneficiaries. He assured that this empowerment program will continue.
The lawmaker stated that improving the lives of the people in his constituency remains his top priority. “My goal is to provide my constituents with a voice, effective representation, responsible leadership, and shared prosperity, as promised during my campaign,” he said.
To date, Jimbo has provided seven brand-new cars to constituents and has supported many men, women, youths, and children through business grants, free medical outreaches—benefiting over 2,500 people—agricultural programs, cosmetology, ICT training, and plastering courses.
He also facilitated the drilling of solar-powered boreholes for access to potable water, which are already in use by the public.
Recently, he empowered constituents with a 15-ton tipper truck and distributed cash gifts of 80,000 naira each to over 250 individuals to invest in agricultural ventures after they completed free agro-allied training and certification sponsored by him.
Jimbo has further supported ICT training for youths, providing laptops to participants to help reduce unemployment and restiveness.
His constituency development efforts also include grading rural roads in villages such as Nung Oku Ikot, Ikot Edet, Nto Unang, and Uruk Ata Ikot Akpan in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area.
To improve safety for travellers on the Abak-Uyo route at night, he assisted in installing hundreds of solar-powered streetlights.
Beneficiaries, including Mrs. Rosemary Thomas Mike from Abak, Rosemary John, a final-year student at the University of Uyo from Ika Local Government Area, Prince Okon, Akwao Bless Udo, and Isidore Usendok, praised Jimbo’s dedication, fairness, and compassionate leadership.
Expressing their gratitude, they called on other Nigerian politicians to emulate Clement Jimbo, describing him as “a voice with a heart of gold.”
