Police embarks on free medical outreach, sanitation exercise in Ogun

As part of activities marking the 2026 Police week, the Ogun State Command has embarked on free medical outreach and statewide sanitation exercise across all Area Commands and Divisions in the state, reflecting its commitment to environmental cleanliness, public health, and community participation.

The medical outreach carried out by the Department of Force Medical Services was held at the State’s Chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalist(NUJ) Secretariat, Iwe-Iroyin, Abeokuta, as participants from different parts of the state trooped in to receive medical care services.

Participants benefited from the services ranging from checks of blood sugar, blood pressure, height and weight measurement BMI and health talks on regular check-ups and exercise to know the conditions of their health and live healthily.

The command, however, thanked the NUJ for its solidarity, support and partnership in making the medical outreach a success, stressing that such collaboration would no doubt intensified the relationship between the police and the members of the council.

On the sanitation exercise, it command said it conducted the exercise across the Area Commands and Divisions in the state to show the members of the public that it was mindful of its environmental cleanliness of its outposts.

Residents and beneficiaries have however, commended the initiatives as timely and impactful, as the Command reaffirms its dedication to service, partnership, and proactive policing in week activities marking the 2026 National Police Day.

Meanwhile, the new Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Bode Ojajuni, sounded a note of warning to officers against abuse use of office, indiscipline, and human rights violations.

Ojajuni stated this at his first press briefing as the 38th CP of the command at the police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state capital.

He thanked the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for trusting him on his position as CP, calling on the personnel to emulate team work and prepare for the challenges ahead to tackle crimes and criminality in the state.
