Police nab four suspected armed robbers in Rivers

Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery and kidnapping syndicate in the fight against violent crimes.

The suspects, identified as Solomon Chris, 26; Fabulous John, 26; Wisdom Kalongo, 30; and Wisdom Samuel, 33, were apprehended on August 8, 2025, at approximately 11:30 hours by operatives of the Bori Division.

According to SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Police Public Relations Officer for the State Police Command, operatives responded swiftly to a distress call regarding suspicious activities in the Nkpee Street area of Bori.
She said the operatives recovered several items from the suspects, including a locally-made revolver pistol, one live round of ammunition, quantities of hard drugs (loud), and criminal charms.

Additionally, an ash-colored Toyota Sienna vehicle with Registration No. BNY-758FS was recovered.

Iringe-Koko noted that the suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang and recover more of their operational weapons.

She said: “The Rivers State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its ongoing fight against violent crimes, following the arrest of four suspected members of an armed robbery and kidnapping syndicate.

“The police command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and urges the public to continue providing timely and useful information to aid police operations.”
