Police station to be built on site of collapsed building in Ogbogoro
The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Council in Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, has announced plans to construct a police station at the site of a recent building collapse in the Egbelu Mbaraja area of Ogbogoro Community.
Ihunwo disclosed the decision during an inspection of the collapsed two-storey structure.
He explained that the new police station would bolster security in the community, addressing safety concerns raised by the incident.
The chairman noted that the decision followed discussions with the State Commissioner for Urban Development, Evans Bipi, who had visited the site shortly after the collapse.
The building, reportedly still under construction, collapsed and tragically claimed one life, leaving another victim in critical condition with severe injuries.
