Prince Akintoye Olusola Akinrinade has paid glowing tribute to his late father, Kabiesi Anthony Adetunji Akinrinade, on his posthumous birthday.

The revered traditional ruler passed away on February 22, 2022.

Describing the late Kabiesi as a relentless advocate for freedom and a true servant of his people, Akintoye reflected on his father’s profound legacy. In his tribute, he highlighted the patriarch’s towering presence, whose sacrifices and convictions impacted countless lives.

Kabiesi Akinrinade was celebrated for his dedication to the cause of liberation, fearlessly treading paths others avoided and steadfastly standing by his principles even when silence would have been the easier choice.

According to Prince Akintoye, his father sought no recognition or reward, driven solely by his belief in dignity, equality, and self-determination.

As family members, loved ones, and the Agbado community in Ogun State honoured his memory, Akintoye spoke of his father’s enduring impact. “Courage is not the absence of fear but the triumph over it. My father’s love for his people and his commitment to service continue to inspire us all,” he remarked.

He also urged the continuation of the values and vision the late Kabiesi stood for. “Though he is gone, his fight continues in all of us who carry his vision forward. We stand on the shoulders of a giant.”

Akintoye concluded with an emotional message: “Happy heavenly birthday, Dad. Your legacy is our guiding light, and your memory inspires us to keep striving for the liberation you dreamed of. Forever in our hearts.”
