The PSN Foundation has launched a Back-to-School Programme in Enugu State, providing over 2,300 students with essential educational materials and menstrual hygiene support, easing barriers to learning.

The Prince Smart Nwobi Foundation (PSN Foundation) has launched its much-anticipated Back-to-School Program in Enugu State, marking a significant step towards improving educational access and quality for students in the region. The program targets over 2,300 students across four key secondary schools, providing them with essential school supplies to enhance their learning experience.

The beneficiary schools include Urban Secondary School Awgu, Urban Girls Secondary School Ugwuleshi, Community School Adogba, and Victory Comprehensive Secondary School Awgu. Each school received a tailored set of resources to address their specific needs, from basic educational materials to special support for female students.

With 800 students in attendance, Urban Secondary School Awgu is the largest beneficiary of the program. The PSN Foundation provided each student with pens, pencils, math sets, rulers, and notebooks, ensuring that they are well-equipped for the academic year. This intervention is expected to significantly reduce the barriers to education that many students in the community face.

At Urban Girls Secondary School Ugwuleshi, where 600 girls are enrolled, the foundation went a step further by distributing sanitary pads alongside educational materials. This initiative aims to promote menstrual hygiene and reduce absenteeism among female students, ensuring they have the opportunity to attend school consistently.

Community School Adogba, with 400 students, and Victory Comprehensive Secondary School Awgu, with 500 students, also benefited from the PSN Foundation’s generous support. By providing these rural schools with the necessary learning tools, the foundation is helping to level the playing field for students who often face educational disadvantages due to limited resources.

Prince Smart Ikechukwu Nwobi, the founder of the PSN Foundation, expressed his commitment to fostering educational development in Enugu State and beyond.

“Our Back-to-School Program is a testament to our belief in the transformative power of education,” said Prince Nwobi, who is also a legal practitioner. “We are dedicated to supporting young minds and ensuring they have the resources they need to succeed.”

The launch of the back-to-school program has been met with widespread appreciation from the local community. Parents, teachers, and students have lauded the PSN Foundation for its timely intervention, which has alleviated some of the financial burdens associated with returning to school.

The PSN Foundation has pledged to continue its efforts in promoting education, empowerment, and advocacy across Nigeria. The success of the back-to-school program in Enugu State is, according to the PSN Foundation, just the beginning, as there are plans to expand similar initiatives to other regions in the near future.
