The death has occurred of Chief David Mafuvbe Siakpere. He died on January 18, 2026, at the age of 86.

He hailed from Egbo Uhurie and Jakpa, Delta State. He was a respected educationist and a proud old boy of Government College, Ughelli (GCU) Delta State; James Welch; and the University of Ibadan.

A statement signed by Edore David Siakpere for the family says funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, described the late Siakpere as “a respected figure in Delta State’s education sector and a proud Urhobo patriot, whose life was dedicated to service, discipline and the moulding of future leaders.”
