Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have shot and killed a 75-year-old farmer, Bukar Tijjani, while he was working on his farmland in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
Counter-insurgency media expert Zagazola Makama learnt that the incident occurred at about 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a relative of the deceased.
The victim was ambushed and shot in the back by the assailants while tending to his farm.

The team documented the scene and evacuated the victim to the General Hospital in Konduga. He was subsequently referred to the State Specialists Hospital in Maiduguri, where he was confirmed dead on arrival by medical personnel.
His body has since been released to his family for burial under Islamic rites.
Relatedly, troops of the Multi-National Joint Task Force in Cameroon have arrested a suspected weapons and ammunition trafficker near Makary, a border community close to Lake Chad, officials said on Thursday.
The suspect, identified as Abbaka Abba Djidda, 50, was intercepted during a targeted operation following intelligence reports linking him to cross-border arms smuggling networks operating in the Lake Chad basin.
According to a security source, Djidda was found in possession of a cache of illegal arms and ammunition, which authorities believe were intended for distribution to terrorist groups operating in the region.
The Lake Chad region, long plagued by insurgent activities, has witnessed increased security collaboration among countries in the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) aimed at combating terrorism, arms trafficking, and other transnational crimes.
Also, the Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a notorious leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area.
It was learnt that the operation took place on July 15 at about 2:00 a.m., following credible intelligence on the suspect’s whereabouts.
Police sources told Makama that the suspect, identified as Gospel Ozioma Nneto, also known as “OZ”, aged 31, hails from Issieke Awo-Idemili community in Orsu LGA of Imo State but resides in Anambra.
Upon arrest, Nneto reportedly confessed to being a committed member of the proscribed terrorist group and a serial killer responsible for multiple attacks across Imo and Anambra States.
He also admitted to serving as a photographer and head of multimedia for the group, operating from one of their major camps known as “Mother Valley,” located between Orsumohu and Orsu villages.
Police say the suspect is currently in custody and is said to be providing useful information.
