A cleric from Taraba State and International Director of the Holiness Revival Movement Worldwide, Paul Rika, has responded defiantly to former Defence Minister Theophilus Danjuma’s threat of a N1 billion lawsuit for alleged defamation.

Rika stated that his writings are divinely inspired messages and urged Danjuma to accept them as God’s words instead of pursuing legal action.

Danjuma, represented by Senior Advocate of Nigeria Tayo Oyetibo, demanded a retraction of statements made in Rika’s book, “God’s Message to Kuteb Tribe and Indigenes of Taraba State.”

The letter claimed that the book portrays him as “a wicked, mischievous, evil, and anti-democratic person” and called for N1 billion in damages within seven days.

In a letter obtained by journalists, Rika advised Danjuma to heed what he referred to as a divine warning and reflect spiritually on the message contained in the book.

He remarked, “God’s message may appear damaging, but if we listen, they will change us into what He desires us to be before our death.”

Rika sent additional publications to Danjuma, explaining that God’s intention is to convey truth rather than to “massage egos.”

He stressed the importance of genuine repentance, stating, “I want you to know your need for genuine repentance through saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.”

The cleric expressed his belief that God’s message in the book addresses the alleged injustices against the Kuteb tribe, urging Danjuma to acknowledge his actions and seek forgiveness.

He further warned that failure to do so would have implications not only in court but in the spiritual realm.

Enclosed with Rika’s letter were other titles aimed at Danjuma’s spiritual edification, including “Escaping Hellfire and Entering Heaven Made Simple.” He concluded by highlighting the importance of seeking forgiveness and walking in the newness of life, stressing that genuine repentance can lead to salvation.
