All three pastors who were kidnapped at gunpoint in Ejule, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, have been released by their abductors.

The pastors were reportedly abducted at about 11 p.m. last Monday night, shortly after departing the crusade grounds in Ejule.

It was learnt that the kidnappers, who may have been trailing the pastors, swooped on them as they settled down to rest after the three-day crusade.

The lucky pastors, led by Evangelist Gabriel Onaji, were set free by their abductors on Wednesday night following an intensive prayer altar raised by other men of God, led by Evangelist Sunday Oguche, president of God’s Care Missions, Okpo.

A member of the church, Gabriel Idoko, confirmed to The Guardian that “the three pastors have been released and have rejoined their respective family members.”

It was learnt that the kidnappers, who were demanding a ransom of N20 million as of Tuesday, were forced to release the three pastors without receiving the ransom.

When contacted for comment, Williams Aya, spokesperson for the Kogi State Police Command, stated that he was unaware of the incident but would seek further information from the relevant division.
