An unidentified woman believed to be in her 20s was yesterday crushed by a truck driver at the Five Star Bus Stop, along the Apapa/Oshodi Expressway, Lagos. The truck driver, Mohammed Abubakar, with CIC, a fish distributing company, who killed the girl around 4.30 pm, said he lost control of the vehicle while avoiding a towing van with registration number Lagos AKD-77-XV.
Witnesses told The Guardian that the girl was unable to escape the terrible fate due to trucks parked in front of the warehouses in the area. The truck knocked down the girl and dragged her more than 20 metres before it stopped. The girl was feared dead, and the bloody body was covered when The Guardian got to the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the towing van was said to have taken to his heels after the incident. The identity of the victim was unknown at the time of filing this report, but traffic was disrupted as people gathered and threatened to set the truck ablaze.
