The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of a 25-year-old man, Friday Isah, in Mubi North Local Council of Adamawa State.
Police authorities said the incident occurred during a birthday celebration in Digil Ward, where the victim was allegedly stabbed with a knife following an altercation. The suspects fled the scene after the attack.
Operatives attached to the Mubi North Divisional Headquarters responded to a distress report and rushed the victim to a medical facility, where he was later confirmed dead by a doctor.
The suspects were identified as Samson Elisha, 19, of Giye Digil, and Ayuba Stephen, 21, of Dagala Digil, both residents of Mubi North Local Council.
The command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, said the suspects are in custody and investigations are ongoing.
The Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan, condemned the killing and described it as unfortunate. He directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case to ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution.
The commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order and urged residents to remain law-abiding and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
