Umezulike Foundation awards scholarship to UNILAG student
The Hon. Justice Innocent Umezulike Foundation has awarded a student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Abejide Adesola Elizabeth, a full law degree scholarship.
Yearly, the Foundation awards full law degree scholarships to deserving undergraduate students passionate about the discipline.
The scholarship entails tuition fees, accommodation, law and textbook payment throughout the duration of her programme at the University.
The Foundation’s co-chair Dr Cynthia C. Umezulike, who revealed that the scholarship award selection process was arduous, said “the board’s final decision rested on a multifaceted combination of academic excellence, grit, determination to succeed against all odds, and persistence in the face of adversity and passion to practice law.”
Dr Victor Azubike Umezulike, the foundation co-chair, affirmed the obligation of the foundation to ensure that Miss Abejide and other awardees succeed personally and professionally. “The foundation is committed to aiding the awardees academic development from undergraduate to postgraduate degree level.”
Speaking during the award ceremony, Dean of Law at the University of Lagos, Professor Abiola Sanni (SAN), commended the foundation for its remarkable investment in legal education and determination to uphold the legacy of his late colleague, Justice Prof Innocent Azubike Umezulike OFR, FCIARB FIIAN.
The scholarship awardee, Abejide Adesola Elizabeth, said the scholarship will bring relief to her family. “With my fees fully covered by the foundation, I can now focus on what matters most – my academic performance and personal growth. I’m no longer worried about financial constraints, and I can confidently commit to delivering my best effort and consistency.”
