Reports indicate a recent act of vandalism targeting electricity infrastructure along the Damaturu-Maiduguri line, marking the third such attack in the area.

Reports say the incident occurred on Sunday, with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirming that two of its towers, T193 and T194, were destroyed by vandals.

TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, issued a statement regarding the latest damage.

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria hereby states that two of its towers, T193 and T194, along the Damaturu-Maiduguri 330kV Single Circuit Transmission Line have again been destroyed by vandals,” Mbah said.

This follows previous incidents, including a similar attack in July 2024, when two towers were also destroyed.
