APGA Abia Guber Aspirants State Programmes

THE INEC recognised governorship candidate of APGA in Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti and another claimant to the position, Mr. Reagan Ufomba, who also undertakes guber campaigns based on the suit he filed in court, have separately made some of their programmes known to the electorate.

In an interaction with members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Abia State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Umuahia, Otti indicated that he will use the best tools to fight crime in the state and reclaim Aba, if voted governor in the 2015 election.

Otti, who was the immediate past Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, said mass employment for the unemployed and massive investment are the weapons to fight crime and reclaim Aba.

He said: “ Proper value has gone down in Aba and I shall invest massively in Aba and also do all that is possible to get other people and organisations to collaborate. The best ammunition to fight crime is to give the people jobs that can engage them to earn legitimate income. I will subsidise production and not consumption, continuously improve security, move farming from subsistence to commercial status. I will turn waste and refuse into wealth.”

At a rally in Alaoji Ugwunagbo yesterday during which Ufomba urged Abians to vote and protect their votes during the forthcoming elections to ensure that candidates of their choice emerged, he indicated that he will conduct local government elections in the state within six months of the advent of his administration.

He remarked that since the last elected local government administration in the state about seven years ago, no other election has been conducted.

He promised to establish a N10 billion grinding mill each at Asa in Ukwa and Arochukwu saying, “ I know the problems of Abia and I can solve them.

I am going to run a corrupt-free and people-oriented government. I am the best person to govern the state because I understand Abia, having traveled state-widely and visited all villages in Abia within the past 15 years.”
