FORMER governor of oyo state, Dr Omololu Olunloyo has declared that the achievements and size of the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Adebayo Alao-Akala was a threat to other candidates.

Olunloyo who paid a surprise visit to the Bodija residence of Alao-Akala said the LP gubernatorial candidate did creditably well during his reign.

He also faulted claims by the present administration that pensioners had been paid, saying they were still owed three months. “ I am also a pensioner, they are still owing us some months, the payment is not regular.”

The former governor said such was not the case during Alao-Akala’s administration, saying they were paid regularly and promptly.

Alao-Akala in his remarks described Olunloyo as a father to all, saying he had always related well with them all as a father.

Speaking on what qualified him as a better candidate,  Alao Akala who governed the state between 2007 and 2011  said that all the other governor’s had done their best, buts his performance and experience will single him out as the best among them all.

“ My performance in terms of prioritizing the people’s welfare and human capital development was different and that is why people are yearning for my return as governor and I am assuring the people of Oyo state that I will do things differently as a governor if elected.”

“The present government had brought hardship to the people through her policies. We have taken our campaign round the state and the rate of poverty is very high, the state economy is in comatose due to capital flight unlike our own administration which ensured that money was in circulation within the state.

The former governor stressed that he was a peace loving man, saying that he inherited the National Union of Roads Transport Workers (NURTW) crisis and proscribed the union due to such excesses.

He added that the crisis was limited to the union unlike the recent fracas, which was purely targeted at innocent residents of the state.

Meanwhile, the LP gubernatorial candidate has assured women that his government will give them a robust empowerment if elected.

Alao Akala spoke during the market to market campaign  and sensitization rally visits to major markets and communities in the state capital.
