THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP) in Rivers State has urged the people of Ogoni not to vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC, describing the APC as anti-Ogoni and a threat to the unity, peace and development of the area.

Special Adviser on Media to the Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Jerry Needam made the assertion over the weekend at Ward eleven, Ken Khana, Khana Local Government Area of the State, during the PDP ward to ward rally in all the wards and villages in Khana Local Government Area of the State.

Describing the PDP as the future of the Ogoni people and the only party under which the aspiration of the Ogoni people to become Governor of Rivers State can be realised within 8 years, Jerry Needam said under the APC the quest of the Ogoni people to become Governor can not be realized even after 24 years.

According to him the desire of the Ogonis for a better environment and equal political participation in Rivers State wouldn’t also be feasible under the APC.

He described APC candidates as enemies of the Ogoni people who have consistently worked against the Ogoni struggle and played key roles in the death of Ken Saro Wiwa and other Ogoni leaders.

The rally was attended by Senator Lee Maeba and others with the senator urging the electorate, “Vote for PDP. President Jonathan loves Ogoni people. He has nominated an Ogoni man, Kenneth Kobani as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
