The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced audit of collection and remittances by revenue-generating agencies from January 2016 to December 2019.

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) in collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced audit of collection and remittances by revenue-generating agencies from January 2016 to December 2019.

The exercise is consistent with efforts by the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to plug leakages and free more funds for government’s activities.

Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, has repeatedly said Nigeria does not have a debt burden problem, citing revenue as its greatest challenge, “because year in, year out, revenue agencies continue to report figures that are below projection.”

RMAFC chairman, Elias Mbam, during a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, said reputable consultants had been hired to work with the anti-graft agency in discharging the project creditably.
