The 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and lawmaker representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Teslim Folarin, has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the APC for next year’s general elections.
The three-term lawmaker, in a congratulatory message, hailed the doggedness, sacrifices, maturity and sense of patriotism demonstrated by the co-contestants.
Folarin said that majority of the APC national delegates, backed by a majority of presidential aspirants, had spoken with their votes that Tinubu has the capacity to defeat the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 general elections and create a developed and prosperous Nigeria in the mould of his achievements in Lagos State.
He, however, urged Tinubu to extend his hands of fellowship to co-contestants and their foot soldiers with a view to closing ranks and working for the victory of the party in the 2023 general elections.
ALSO, the standard flagbearer of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni, in a congratulatory statement by Chairman, Media Advisory Council, Segun Oni Campaign Organisation (SOCO), Moses Jolayemi, Oni described Tinubu as “a detribalised leader and an astute politician of a formidable political trajectory.
SIMILARLY, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated Tinubu over his victory at the just-concluded presidential primary election.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Eromosele Ebholeme, Obasa commended the outcome of the party’s primary, which saw Tinubu clinching the party’s ticket.
Others who congratulated Tinubu include the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II; Chairman, Social Democratic Party (SDP), Oyo State chapter, Yinka Folahan and former spokesman for the APC in Lagos State, Seye Oladejo.
Olubadan, in a statement by his media aide, Oladele Ogunsola, while congratulating Tinubu and all other presidential candidates, commended the various political parties for the successful completion of their primaries.
He charged them to avoid personalities’ attack during their electioneering campaigns, as well as utterances that could further put a wedge between them and their supporters.
Folahan described the victory of Tinubu as an act of God and the people of the country.
Oladejo said that Tinubu as candidate for APC represents a breath of fresh air to the Nigerian state.
In a statement, the spokesman of the party in Lagos State said: “This is a victory well-deserved and most expected. It implies that diligence, consistency and large-heartedness do get rewarded in politics.”
He added that Tinubu had given a good fight, describing such fight as the spirit of democracy.
