The Nigerian ambassador to Morocco, Mansur Nuhu Bamalli, also known as Magajin Garin Zazzau, has died at the age of 42.

The Zazzau Emirate announced his death in a statement, saying that he passed away at a private hospital in Lagos while in transit to Morocco.

Bamalli was appointed ambassador by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022. He was also the Magajin Garin Zazzau, a traditional title in the Zazzau Emirate in Kaduna State.

He was the biological younger brother to the Emir of Zazzau.

Prior to his appointment as ambassador, Bamalli served as the deputy director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is survived by his wife and two children.

The Zazzau Emirate said that the funeral arrangements for Bamalli would be communicated later.
