Two humanitarian aid workers with a nongovernmental organisaion Family Health International, who were abducted by the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) have been rescued by Nigerian troops.

The two victims were part of the three aid workers kidnapped in April at the guest house of the NGO in Fotoko village near Gamborou Ngala town, Borno State.

However, one aid worker and two security guards are still in captivity.

The recent incident came nearly one year after some humanitarian workers were abducted in Fotoko village near Gomboru Ngala town.
