The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has postponed its 9th convocation ceremony indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The postponement was announced by NOUN Registrar, Felix Edoka in a statement on Monday.

Edoka said the school council and senate jointly “took the decision in view of the health dangers inherent in the gathering of a large number of people at this time.”

The ceremony scheduled for Friday, 20 and Saturday, March 21 2020, was to host over 25,000 graduating students of the school.

He regretted every inconvenience the new development would cause graduating students, family and friends.
