Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim, has emerged the  Outstanding Commissioner of the Year,  organised by Garden City Advancement Award 2021.

The Commissioner has dedicated the award to God and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom  Wike,  describing the governor as the new face of democracy in Nigeria.

Nsirim also described the award as a vote of confidence on the media community in the state.

He said Wike was determined to make Rivers State investors destination of choice in Nigeria.

He said: “I attribute this honour to the grace of God Almighty, it is the grace of God that distinguishes a man. God made this possible.

“And of course, God used His Excellency, Nyesom Wike, who appointed me, permanent secretary four years ago, and commissioner of information in the same ministry, two years and running.”

He said, without Wike giving him the platform, he wouldn’t have been recognised.

The commissioner said he is proud to associate with the governor because his name resonates with good governance anywhere in the country.

Earlier, the convener of the Award, Mr. kuyoyo Robinson, said over 2,000 nominations were received out of which the winners of various categories emerged.
