ntel begins operation in Lagos, Abuja
Nigeria’s fifth mobile network operator, ntel has started operations with the commercial launch of its service in Lagos and Abuja, yesterday.
ntel, which said that the commencement would be in phases, however, disclosed that it started commercial operations with bumper offers for early bird pioneers and data users.
The firm said it would be committing $1 billion in the next four years to build a robust network in the country, which would run on the 0804 platform.
Speaking at the formal launch in Lagos, yesterday, ntel Chief Executive Officer, Kamar Abass, said the firm has started the commercial activities on its newly commissioned 4G/LTE-Advanced network.
Abass said ntel commencement of operations was the culmination of their journey from acquiring the old Nigeria Telecommunications Limited (NITEL) and MTe assets to the delivery of successive milestones underlining their growing operating capability on the new fixed and mobile network infrastructure.
