NUC okays 10 new courses for Ondo varsity

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for the commencement of 10 new academic programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session at Wesley University, Ondo State.
The approval was conveyed in an official letter sent to the university on January 27 from the NUC secretariat. According to the Vice Chancellor of the faith-based institution, Sunday Obeka, the approval was granted following a resource verification visit by a panel of experts, who assessed the university’s human and material resources.
In the letter signed by Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Girei, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, the NUC confirmed that the newly approved programmes would run at the main campus of the university.
The courses include a B.Sc. in Entrepreneurship; B.Sc. in Office Management Technology; B.Sc. in Surveying; O.D. in Optometry, as well as PGD, M.Sc., M.Phil., and PhD in Urban and Regional Planning.
Others are PGD, M.Sc., M.Phil and PhD in Estate Management; PGD, M.Sc., M.Phil, and PhD in Economics; B.Sc. in Public Health; B.Rad. in Radiography; PGD, M.Sc., M.Phil and PhD in Community Health.
The Vice-Chancellor said the approval “marks a significant milestone for Wesley University by enhancing its academic offerings, and providing more opportunities for students in diverse fields of study.”
