Oando PLC denies paying $17.2m for Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido performance
Oando PLC has debunked claims that it paid a total sum of $17,200,000.00 to singers Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido to perform at their end of the year party in Lagos.
A statement purportedly detailing the budget for the party showed that Wizkid was paid $11,000,000.00 to perform as the main act for 45 minutes at the event.
Burna Boy was paid $5,500,000.00 to perform for 55 minutes while Davido closed the show and got paid $700,000.00.
The budget statement was purportedly signed by Oando CEO, Adewale Tinubu.
In a post on X, Oando dissociated itself from the statement, describing the content as misleading.
“Oando strongly denies all allegations regarding artistes’ payments at our recent end-of-year party.
“These claims are baseless and misleading. As a responsible organisation, we adhere to the highest standards of transparency and integrity in all our dealings,” it said.
The organisation urged the public to disregard the statement which it said contains “unfounded rumours.”
