Obasanjo, others to attend Wilson Badejo Foundation lecture August 10

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has been scheduled to chair the Wilson Badejo Foundation public lecture slated for August 10, 2022 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has been scheduled to chair the Wilson Badejo Foundation public lecture slated for August 10, 2022 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos.

The lecture, with the theme, “Overcoming the Twin Challenge of Poverty and Insecurity in Nigeria: The Way Forward,’ is expected to be delivered by Director-General of NIIA,
Prof. Eghosa Osaghae.

Chairman of the Foundation, Osaren Emokpae, while addressing journalists ahead of the lecture, said the organisers of the event deemed it fit to kick-off the 15th yearly lecture with the motive to address issues of concern, such as the problem of poverty and insecurity affecting the growth of the country.

He cited poverty as one major problem fuelling the insecurity ravaging the country, saying: “As long as poverty is still on the land, terrorism will continue to be on the increase.”
