Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has lifted the suspension slammed on the chairman of Egor Council, Ms. Eghe Ogbemudia.Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, stated yesterday that the suspension was lifted after an investigative panel cleared the council boss of the accusations that led to her suspension.

Ogbemudia was suspended after officials of the council wrote several petitions against her alleging financial misappropriation of fund and abuse of power.

“The cases brought against her have been reviewed and she has been cleared of the allegations, thus her reinstatement. She is to resume office immediately,” Osagie said.He added the reinstatement would provide Ogbemudia the opportunity to continue in repositioning the council in line with the vision of the Governor Obaseki-led administration of efficient management of the councils on the principles of probity and people-driven development. Some council chairmen have been suspended, and those who were found culpable replaced.
