Obaseki emerges vice chairman of PGF


Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has been elected Vice Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).

The PGF, which comprises governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, as chairman.

A statement issued in Benin City by his special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, disclosed that Obaseki’s election was in recognition of his growing political influence in the country.

Members of the Progressive Governors Forum elected the Edo State governor as their Vice Chairman due to his clean politics and people-oriented policies,” it said.

The statement also noted that Obaseki had a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari last week on the 2020 gubernatorial election in Edo State among, other issues.

“Obaseki will now work with all APC governors and other leaders across the country to galvanise the party towards electoral victories and timely delivery of dividends of democracy,” the statement added.
