The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Godwin Obaseki is leading in the results of the Edo State governorship election announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday.

INEC has announced results from 17 local government areas of the State with results from Ovia South West yet to be announced.

The APC candidate currently has total of 306, 663 votes while his closest challenger, Osagie Ise-Iyamu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) polled 244, 363 votes.

However, PDP has rejected the result.

The party rejected the results in a press conference addressed by its Chairman in the state, Mr Dan Orbih,on Thursday in Benin.
